Purpose: Asprosin is a novel glucogenic adipokine produced by the fibrillin 1 (FBN1) gene that is generated and released by white adipose tissue during fasting. Asprosin hormone has been shown to improve the sense of smell in wild-type mice by activating the OLFR734 receptor and decreasing the time it takes for them to discover hidden food.
